Joe and Nilani shortlisted in the G4C Awards 2026
August 4th, 2026 | News
We are incredibly proud to share that two members of the IMA Architects team have been shortlisted in this year’s Constructing Excellence Midlands Generation4Change (G4C) Awards. Director Joe Travers has been shortlisted for New Professional of the Year, and Architectural Technologist Nilani Aruldas has been shortlisted for Trainee of the Year.
The G4C Awards celebrate young achievers in construction and the built environment, along with the companies that support and train the future leaders of the industry. To have not one but two members of our team recognised is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work, dedication and passion for what they do.
Joe joined IMA as an Architectural Technologist in 2011 and became a Director in 2025, the same year he qualified as a registered architect after completing the RIBA Studio programme and his RIBA Part 3 alongside full-time work. Chartered with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and the Chartered Institute of Building as well, he leads some of our largest and most technically demanding projects and guided the practice through its ISO 19650 BIM recertification in January 2026. He is also a dedicated mentor, supporting colleagues across the practice as they work towards their own professional qualifications.
Nilani joined us in 2018 after completing her BSc in Architectural Technology and now runs large industrial and commercial projects. She has played a key role in the delivery of Stud Brook Business Park and Plots C1 and C2 at Fairham Business Park in Nottingham, where she is now part of the team delivering Phase 2, and has helped both schemes achieve BREEAM Excellent and Very Good ratings.
Ben Hall, Managing Director, said: “Joe and Nilani are both outstanding at what they do and this recognition is thoroughly deserved. Investing in our people is at the heart of how we work at IMA, and it is brilliant to see two of our own recognised as future leaders of the industry.”
The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre on Thursday 15 October 2026.
Congratulations to Joe and Nilani on this well-deserved recognition. We wish you both the very best of luck on the awards night!
